CCTV Cameras
Hi guys,
I hope someone can help me. I am new here. I bought 2 CCTV cameras PTZ (pan, Tilt and zoom) ones and they came with a power adaptor. Now if iI connect it directly to the adaptor, it works but if iI put an extension cable, so basically cut the adaptor cable and extend it. It does not work. The adaptor is 12V and I checked at the end with the extension on, iI still get 12V. Can anyone advise what am iI missing please? Cheers, Raj |

Re: CCTV Cameras.
This doesn't sound like vintage equipment to me.
I would suggest that in extending the cabling on the 12V side you have reversed the positive and negative wires. It's quite possible this has damaged the cameras. It would be worth reversing the wires and trying again though.
