Unhappy BVWS Magazine

Mine arrived today in a disgusting state thanks rain and (careless or couldn't) postman.

Have sent email to Mike Barker to see if mag could sent out in polythene cover like a lot of other mags are.

Does anyone else have problems with damage in transit?

In a word yes my Spring one arrived in a mess and that was after they had managed to lose the first copy,

Mine has not yet arrived so I guess it will be tomorrow.

Cheers

Mine arrived today in perfect condition. Never had one arrive in less than perfect condition, but there is always a first time.

Mine's arrived unscathed too, this morning.

Saturday's post was a different matter, completely sodden and with footprints on it.

Mike did say it is to be brought up the matter about using polythene, at least the delivery person can see its not junk mail as well as keeping dry.

Mine arrived safely this morning.

I have to say, though, having subscribed to many magazines over the years, that I much prefer them to arrive in a stout paper envelope rather than a plastic bag!
I have had minimal bad experiences of water damage, but many bad experiences with magazines in plastic bags arriving kinked, folded or with bashed corners - something I really hate. IMHO these bags just don't offer any mechanical protection.

Please keep things as they are!

You are very lucky Andy, they damage so much up here with overtight elastic bands.Have asked before politely to no avail.

I would suggest that a magazine in a plastic bag is even more vulnerable to 'elastic band damage' than one in a thick paper envelope!
The only real solution is those corrugated cardboard book/magazine packings used by Amazon and others, which extend well beyond the ends of the contents. But they must be relatively expensive.

Mine arrived today, in good nick but without the envelope flap being sealed, the peel off strip was (is) still in place!

Me too. Never had a problem with the post, but one succumbed to bath time damage once!

Mine arrived in a crisp and 'just off the press' condition!
I liked the Ekco/Olympic logo- very clever!

Hi,
I got the magazine yesterday. I must suggest that on the envelope they put "do not fold " as I have had a while ago an earlier magazine folded in half and then forced through the letterbox !

I agree, 'Do Not Fold' or 'Do Not Bend' can be counterproductive, just like 'Fragile' on a parcel encourages some of the idiots to see how far they can throw it.

Mine arrived yesterday, good condition, I've never had a damaged one yet and I also much prefer the big paper envelope to a plastic sleeve!

Good read as usual...

Mine arrived today in pristine condition. Never had a problem yet. I agree, the paper envelope offers better protection against damage than a plastic bag (except water damage of course)
Must go away and read mine now.

Thank You Again to Mike Barker. The replacement came intact. Amazing no one else has had problems, or more to the point respectful delivery personel regarding other folks property.

Also had no problems till moving up here!
