Default Tool to remove inaccessible twisted tags

Case in question - the escutcheon on the Bush MB60 (and probably TR82 et al). It is held into the cabinet front with three tags that are twisted to retain them - two are buried in holes so they are inaccessible to pliers and the like.
Ideal tool to get to this is a split-pin with the ends cut off flush - about 2.5mm is OK. Spread it out slightly so the tag goes in the split.
