Default What is it????

Hello could use some help if so kind. I'm sure there's a fellow or two on here who can tell me what this is, thanks.

That is a set of vibrators tuned (tunable?) to different frequencies. On may old PBX I have 2, one generating the 25Hz for the ringers, and one generating a kind of a dial tone, The dial tone is pretty noisy but has the main frequency close to 425Hz.
Since you are in USA it was common to have different ring frequencies on party-lines, so that may be the reason for so many. You may find better knowledge at http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php, or at https://www.telephonecollectors.org/ And you will probably also get great answers from the writer of the book "Old time Telephones" Ralph Meyer is a highly educated, and helpful man.
