Wire ended components.
Greetings from sunny Brittany.
Where do you guys get your wire ended components from? As we are in an age whereby most components have been absorbed inside integrated circuits, and those that are not, are so miniscule as to be viewed through a magnifying glass. Our interest lies in chunky (by comparison) capacitors and resistors with nice long ends which not only solder easily but actually reach the two parts to be connected. Where are they to be found? Such parts are rare and expensive in France and the postage is even worse. Alas we don't have back street gold mines where aged gentlemen have racks of old capacitors and wire ended resistors in box after box on dusty shelves. Does any one know of a mail order company who can accommodate us with the real Mac'Coy at sensible prices and a realistic postal service. Perhaps a dusty old shop ? In hope, Wulfrun |

Re: Wire ended components.
Hi Station X,
That's a very good site! Didn't know they operated in France. If the don't charge an arm and a leg I'll give it a try. Thanks very much |

Re: Wire ended components.
Not sure what the postage charges to France are but this company has a very good range of 'real' components.

You could also try:
http://justradios.com/ they sell a complete range of capacitors and resistors, including values which are hard to find anywhere else. Sensible postage charges as well. No connection etc, just a happy customer. |

Re: Wire ended components.
Two companies I use a lot are
www.rapidonline.com and www.farnell.co.uk "wire ended" components are by no means rare, they compliment surface mount types regards steve |
