Default Roberts radio needs recovering

I'm posting this on behalf of someone.

The leatherette cover has started crumbling away.

Can anyone recover this radio? I don't know the model number.

Please PM me if you can help.

Hi Michael

You will know of another BVWS Member who has a similar request.

I have contacted Roberts Radio asking them if replacement cabinets suffer the same problem.

As soon as I have a reply, I will share it with you.

Hi again Maurice,

I have just seen this thread:

Contacted Roberts about this, and they say that they no longer offer the service. Here is their reply...

"Dear Mr Gardinder,

Thank you for your email. We do not offer a covering service generally; we do stock cases for newer models, which can be used if requested but not models older than 5 years."

"Clearly they found it too labour intensive as well!"

Now, as it so happens, there are several adverts on Facebook Marketplace for both RD60 and R250's at a reasonable price. In the case of the RD60, there are a few with the case in good condition but I assume because they are not DAB+, are attractive because of their price.

Hope this helps.

Chris
NOTE: I have no relationship with Facebook M or its sellers.
