Which all adds up to the requirement for an impedance of around 50 ohms over the frequencies its being used for. My Bird dummy load has an impedance of 58 ohms which will result in an SWR of 1.16 when used with a 50ohm output transmitter, this does not worry me! The impedance of most lower cost dummy loads will vary with frequency but it must be remembered that the output impedance of most transmitters will vary as well. Peter
