Default Olivetti Divisumma 24

Anyone here with a mechanical bent and plenty of time, and who fancies a challenge?
I'd intended this as a retirement project, but shalln't get to it now.

This complex electromechanical calculator is jammed, probably with hardened lubricant. I have managed to get it to turn over a couple of times, but it will need completely stripping , cleaning and rebuilding - not a job for the faint hearted.

It's grubby but otherwise good cosmetically, and comes with the hard to find mains lead. A heavy beast, it's probably a collect or FCS job, but I could arrange delivery at cost if you like.

Pictures below are from the Internet, as the machine is stuck in a corner at present, but is identical apart from the free dust!

£15 for hours (weeks, months...) of entertainment.

Good evening,

Could I put my name in the hat, these mechanical adding machines are certainly interesting and managed to get a “PLUS” mechanical adding machine working properly a few months ago. Currently finishing repairing and setting up a smiths Westminster chime mantle clock.

Many thanks,
Christopher Capener

Hello Christopher,
With pleasure!
This is a full four-function calculator, a mechanical analogue of computer technology (or rather the other way round), with stores, shift registers etc., and should be interesting to restore.

"Dan-dun-DAAH!"

Yes ... it's 'HIM' again, offering a possible FCS arrangement from Shropshire to somewhere convenient to Rugby (thinks ... I've an ex-Beeb chum who lives on a narrowboat near Rugby so I could visit him as part of the journey).

Let me know ...

All the best

Guy

OK, Christopher (High Vacuum House) is having this, as he was first to apply and can collect quickly. Apologies to others who asked, but don't worry, there will be more stuff in due course, and I'll try to distribute it evenly if there's interest.
