Default Minim Ambisonics

Just found a Minim Ambisonic decoder AD8. I remember it was given to me about 25 years ago. There's some paperwork with it. Some sort of surround sound system?

Is it of interest to anyone these days?

It's a standard for encoding surround sound. There's a very comprehensive Wikipedia article on it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambisonics

Ambisonics is probably one of the few surround sound systems that is still being actively developed. Ambisonic mic arrays are now becoming available cheaply and there are software decoders available. However, this decoder sounds like the ideal unit for someone who doesn't want to involve a computer in the process.
