Default What would forum members ask Santa for?

With a Christmas theme, what would members of this forum put in the note to Santa. What Radio or TV do they want to add to their collection if money were no object.
To get the ball rolling I'm going to be greedy,
Vintage Radio or TV - I would love a Cossor 137T. 1936 405 line TV
Test Gear - a nice 8.5 digit meter like a Keithley 2002 or a Keysight 3458A
and to the Broadcasters to remove the irritating Logos in the corner of the screen.

I have added and image of what is reputed to be the worlds first Christmas Card produced in 1843 by J. C. Horsley and commissioned by civil servant Sir Henry Cole.
Merry Christmas
Chris

I would love a much bigger workshop and more space to show off and enjoy my radio and telly collection ! A transmitter which cancels out all SMPS and telephone noises would be nice.

A system that can polarise photons, enabling the construction of a cloaking device.
The ability to levitate.
Full set of control gear for a mercury arc rectifier.

Two of these are in the realms of fantasy..

For me it would be a working Philips N1500 video recorder or a Grundig SVR also in perfect working order.

All BBC National stations still on MW (without the treble cut).

A boxful of magic eyes (assorted types) and wander plugs.

Assuming _space_ is also not a problem.

Vintage Computing : 'Straight 8' (original PDP8), PDP11/70 (or even better an 11/74), PDP12, Philips P857

Telecoms : A small-ish electromechanical PABX (or even just a PAX)

Radio : An interesting (read : complicated) communications receiver.

Audio : one of those slot-loading recordplayers (Discatron or similar). Yes I know they ruin records but I still want one. Thorens TD224 autochanger (I can dream...)

But to be honest I've got enough projects to keep me busy for many years.

Don't do what I did and insulate your workshop with (amongst others) foil lined bubble-type insulation and then spend a week wondering why the SDR receiver I built couldn't pick up diddly squat....

I'd like Santa to drop off (carefully) a nice 200MHz MSO - one with a nice LCD screen....

Not vintage but I’d like one of those nice OLED 4K jobbies at the moment. And a new HF antenna. I’ve got the bits to build the latter in already so it’s just time. As the designated driver and cook over Christmas I don’t have a lot of that

I have an empty cabinet bought some time ago which is now in the way in my ever-smaller workshop space. If you want it, you can have it as a late Xmas present, just arrange collection or whatever.

An Avro Lancaster, so I could fit it out with T1154/R1155, Gee, H2S, SBA etc rather than it all sit on the bench...………

I would like Santa to bring me several more hours in each day so that I could spend more time sorting through the tuit box…
