Default E-mail notification of update to a thread

I'm on a couple of other radio/electronics Forums and they send me an e-mail when any thread is updated. Maybe that's a bit of overkill, but does this site have the option of sending an e-mail when a thread I create gets a response?

If this can't be done today, would it be considered as an upgrade to the Forum some time in the future?

best regards ... Stef

You just choose the option to subscribe to the thread.

Interestingly, during a recent thread I discovered that you don't get the email notifications if the reply comes from a member that is under moderation. That confused me at first

That sounds like a bug.

"A bug": really? I am under the impression that if a member is 'under moderation', that member's posts might be read by a moderator first, prior to being possibly displayed on the forum (or not displayed). In which case, since the post will not appear immediately (if at all), then the corresponding e-mail notification will be delayed (or even not sent, if the post is not displayed).

Or is my 'impression' mistaken?

Al.

I would expect the forum software to send the notification email once a moderated post has been approved by a moderator, but apparently this doesn't happen.

Please note that members may be required to have their posts moderated for a range of reasons. It's not some sort of punishment.

► High-lighting above in blue was my me - simply for emphasis.

Yes - that was - and still is - my understanding. But I cannot speak from personal experience of this (and, more importantly, don't wish to be able to do so ): I refer to second-hand reports from others.
