Default Bang Olufsen LX-2800 repair

Ordered a cap kit from Hong Kong, 10 values of each from 0.33uF to 2200uF.

105 deg and 50V.

The new capacitors are smaller than the previous ones.

The only cap I kept was for 230V, I measured it and it was in good shape.

Good sound on the TV!

Also trimmed the TV in as best I could, picture looks great!

But not in HD ofcourse...

I hope your capacitors last ok, I only use Panasonics or Nichicon or Vishay capacitors available from RS or Farnell.

I note you are in Norway, I'm sure RS have a branch in Norway.

Capacitor kit is of brand "Nichicon" and "Fuhjyyu". 50V used.

Also ordered 25V, these are smaller. I went for 50V as these are more
solid I guess.

But, as with items shipped from china... you know how things are

They can print anything they like, your own risk.

I have a microprocessor unit that measures capacity and internal resistance.
Also bought from china!

They are very accurate.

These kits are dirt cheap, the cost of two kits don't even cover internal postage in Norway. Items below £35 are tax free to Norway

Now I am going to put the TV in the living room next to my plasma TV.

The TV is great to use as a radio, sound is excellent, sound is not tight but very pleasant, like listening to an old tube radio

Fantastic televisions they were! I had one for a few years. The sound was brilliant - until the speaker rubber surround perished. I managed to source a direct pair for replacement from B&O but they never sounded anything like as good. Such a disappointment...

Yes, I have an LX2502 with that problem and cannot source OEM replacements. I'm using extension speakers for now, hopefully I might find some replacement drivers eventually.

You might look at finn.no as they give away TV's for free if you pick them up. These TV's was quite have so people are quite happy if you pick them up.
