Does the table modelhave a totally different cabinet .I cant find a pic . Im still using it with original batteries ,without distortion interestingly !But im not driving it hard

It sure does, it's more of an upright tombstone style cabinet.

I've got one of these portables, and it did work at one point. Somehow one of the IF leads got torn from its connector. Played up a storm after that.

Recently tried again and now it whistles for some reason. It must like me....
