Default Tektronix 5-120-025 transformer?

I have a Tek mains tfmr with a part # 0f 5-120-025 that I can't identify. I've looked through Tekwiki & searched through all the huge Tek tfmr reference material but can't ID it. looking at the size of the thing I'd say it's out of 500 series scope or one of the curve tracers; any ideas?

Andy.

I've been doing more research on this unknown Tek tfmr but all I can find is this reference in a Tek tfmr document, see attached, but that isn't the one I have. AFAIK all Tek mains tfmr's have a 120 prefix IE 120-0103-00 whereas mine has a "5" prefix, see pics. Any ideas?

The two ex-golden age Tek guys I'd have gone to about this - Deane Kidd and Stan Griffiths - are alas beyond the pearly gates now.

But someone at Tekscopes io forum might be able to shed a light.

Seems they changed from a 6 digit part number to 9 digits, I found a reference to this in one of the transformer lists.
The newer format is XXX-0XXX-00 where the Xs are the old part number, but there no explanation for the extra 5 in the number.

Under the newer format it would be 120-0025-00, but this doesn't seem right for this transformer, as that is the EHT transformer for the 514 scope, this clearly isn't a HT TF.
Of course this could be an error in the lists when they changed the numbering, also the manual for the 514AD gives a part of T514PB1 for the TF, another different format.

hello friends,

I have some old gears where the main transformer begins with T following the type number of the instrument. By example : the LC Meter Type130 owns a transformer T-130

So I think (but I am not shure) that the very old tek scopes have a T (typenumber) inside.
It may be possible this is not a main transformer here. What is the 5? This very interested question must be forwarded to the vintage tek museum, they have old informations. I asked a friend who is employe by Tek germany, they have a lot of database, but also nothing about this 5-

greetings
Martin

Thanks Martin, I too have Tek EHT tfmr's with a T prefix. This tfmr is definitely a 500 series mains tfmr, there's another one too which my mate now has which was FS recently on this forum.

Not been in touch with Tekscopes lads.

Andy.
