Default Viglen 5.25" floppy drive

Hi all.

I have a Viglen 5,25" twin floppy drive unit for a BBC micro computer about 30 years old. I think it needs a power supply as the clear plastic connector does not fit to the computer anywhere i can see.

Alternatively information voltage and amps to power it up.

MANY THANKS

I'm sure that the floopy drives used on my BBC micro were powered from the machine itself. I have a feeling that the power connector was located in a recess on the underside.

The power socket for the floppy drives is underneath at the far left-hand side and has openings for pins arranged as per the six on a domino piece.

Most BBC Micros had a power connector there, but not all. Very early machines with linear power supplies just have a plain black piece of metal in the hole, but they're a rarity.

If fredysegs has one of the early Beebs with a blanking plate, I'll happily swap it for one of my later ones.
