Default Sharp PC-1500A

Hi

I have just acquired one one the above computers and would like to restore it.
Unfortunately the previous owner has removed most of the keys.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can replace them?

regards
Ian

Hi Ian,

have you tried asking Sharp themselves, as they may sell a complete set as a spares item.

Googe 'sharp forum' to see if you can find a Sharp community that may be able to help.

Then there is always ebay which may have a broken one for spares and repair. However, just looking there, they seem expensive items.

Please advise back on progress.

Good Luck - Mike

Wow I have one of these somewhere, complete with printer and I think micro cassette. Didn't realise they where sought after. Wonder of keys from a contempary sharp pocket calculator would fit. Then use something like leteraset to put he letters on.

We got this email from a non-member who saw this thread:
Quote:
I still have this pocket-computer and every add-in/on ever produced for it
available. As a retired Systems Developer for SHARP pocket-computers, who
has recently moved, I have to part with most of my 'stock'.
May I draw your attention to the fact that the PC-1500A is so much more than a "BASIC-programmable calculator" ! In the eighties I have automated a five-fold weighing/dosage unit for the production of powder milk at Nestlé (the world's largest food-producer) with only 1 PC-1500A, where 5 full-fledged PCs were specified.
If one needs an A/D-convertor input for measuring purposes, choose the
bigger brother, PC-1600 (same size, though but with 4-line LCD!), featuring no less than three processors. I can offer several examples to choose from; each has 2 'pockets' for memory modules, etc., etc.
Before bothering you with too lenghty a story, let me ask you, to please for-
ward this info to any member interested.
Thanks very much beforehand for your time and effort!

Kind Regards
Raymond Bakker
