Is it not a good idea if you show a picture of the back of the circuit board The printed circuit side so your soldering can be checked.
Have you watched the video John has on YouTube of the 302

I’m not sure is I’m not up to date on this tv but it looks to me that you might of bridged the tracks . Double check . As I’m looking at the picture it’s about 3/4 of the way up. And slightly in from the support bar . Maybe someone else can give a second opinion

Yes that’s the place . If you have the access Solder must be removed. Be careful not to Heat it for to long or you might lift the track.

Just saying it looks like it. If your convinced it’s ok then carry on . If your unsure check it with a meter for a short .

Ok now the whole screen is illuminated line through the middle it's flashing, also has snow. No sound yet. I can now hear clicking sounds like it's coming from the transformer

We need a picture Daz. Don't use the flash. Adjust the height and form controls to just fill the screen and turn the brightness on full. Is it just faint clicking sounds? It might just be static around the EHT rectifier valve box. What do you mean by 'line through the middle' if you have a full screen? What effect does the vertical hold have? John.

It still has a bright horizontal line through the middle. But this time the whole screen is illuminated. I haven't changed the vert just yet. The one I have is 100uf

Check your soldering on the blue circle in the picture of the board. John.

John.

Take some good, clear off-screen pictures and answer John's questions!

Unless and until you do, we can only guess as to what the actual fault(s) and next step(s) might be.
