Default Trafo laminations

How to determine if oxidation of transformer lamination (EI-33) is ok after burned out windings. Has been very hot, enamel burned partly off! Eventually how to check?

Ok Joe, as informed the lams have been so hot that the isolation and evt. paper has burned (probably no paper but oxidating lams). I will however give the lams a go and try! Tks for answer!

Motor rewinders use special torches to "burn" out old windings and don't have problems.
