Default IEC 519B tuning

Hi again, My 519B radio has 4 wave bands, two M.W bands and 2 shortwave bands. I have 3 bands working perfect but the first M.W. Band has nothing coming in. It goes from 1600 K/cs to 600 K/cs. Should this be long wave normally? Dick.

Hi Dick, 1600kcs to 600kcs is about 187 to 500 metres, medium wave. Your other M.W.Band could be trawler band about 1.5mcs to 3mcs. Long wave is roughly in the range 150kcs to 50 kcs or 500 to 2000metres.

LW high frequency should be 600kc/s for 500m. 500kc/s would be 600m.

Just remember,
metres per cycle * cycles per second = metres per second.
Wavelength λ {metres} * frequency f {Hz} = speed of light = 299 792 458.

For all practical purposes, metres * kHz = 300 000.

Hi Dick
It looks like your radio has MW and 2 SW bands. What appears to be a second MW band at the top is the same band but marked in Kc/s
This is a screen print photo from RM

Hi Mike, The screen print photo is the same as mine, but mine does not have the particularwavebands underneath the piano keys. The switch on/off is on the left, nothing on key2, MW. on key 3, SW 1 key 4, SW 2 is on key 5. This is very good on MW. Regards Dick.
