Alexander Graham Plane Telephone.
I've just bought one of these phones, plugged a modular line cord in, there was some very faint sound in the line but it wouldnt dial or ring out. I opened it up and been confronted with a rat's nest of wires. How do I convert/fix this?

Re: Alexander Graham Plane
These are quite old phones now, made in Canada during the late '80s. They probably use traditional technology. Just try cleaning any contacts and tightening any connectors. If this fails then it may not be readily compatible with our phone system and may need some adaptation.

Re: Alexander Graham Plane Telephone.
Well I followed some advice I found on converting American telephones, this has worked in making it receive/answer calls but the bell doesn't ring. It's not a big deal though as I'm going to use it as an extension phone in the bedroom. Thanks for your suggestion of cleaning the contacts though, I did check them carefully and they didn't look too oxidised.
