Re: Another Scottish Meet
We did have that excellent weather up 'til yesterday but we paid for it this morning with several inches of rain. (Or so it seemed) That said it certainly didn't spoil the day as just as last time Norman and his wife had laid on excellent facilities and lovely food in abundance. It was very nice to catch up all the familiar faces again and for me to meet Terry and Andy for the first time and in addition to the good company a goodly amount of interesting equipment/sets also changed hands.
Once again many thanks to Norman and his wife for a very enjoyable and interesting day out. Peter. |

Re: Another Scottish Meet
Glad you all had a good day and I am sorry to have missed it. Did Steve P make it OK?
My day though was rather mixed, I hadn't been in the shed for some days and the persistent rain has found some problems in the roof, My Ekco TMB272, a Black Box and a couple of radios have been saturated, these are in the house now drying out, on top of that I seem to have landed up with gout in my left foot, what an excruciating pain! On the plus side my Grandsons Christening was great!

Re: Another Scottish Meet
Hi Trevor,
I'm sorry that you couldn't make it and also to hear of your problems. The 78s made it into Steve and Dilys' car but the B40 proved to be a bridge, sorry, boat anchor too far. Hope all dries out well and that you get some relief from the foot pain. If it's any consolation I too have problems in that dept. at the moment, although mine appears to be plantar fasciitis (thinks.. Fred Dibnah) rather than gout. Terry was suggesting the Burntisland museum as a possible next meeting venue which sounds like a good idea. I hope we can meet up again there. Kind regards, Peter |

I have just arrived back from another great day. Can I just add my thanks to Norman and his wife and all who were there. Trevor The B40 made it back safely and is currently residing in my garage. Re: Another Scottish Meet
Nice one Al.
I have done some research and the big problem is from uric acid in the blood, In my case probably diuretics for the heart problem, I admit I like a glass of red but it seems red is possibly the best tipple for you. One thing i don't do is drink enough water so I have upped it over the last few days, so here's hoping. Sorry for gouting OT!

To all Scottish members(i am sure all other meets are the same) of this forum these meets are a very relaxed and friendly way of getting to know other members. No matter your experience you will be welcome. Al

Re: Another Scottish Meet
Thanks guys for the kind comments, by the way my wifes name is Donna, she hasn't introduced herself to yourselves as she is a bit shy. I am glad everyone likes the casual atmosphere and look forward to the next meet whenever/wherever. I was pleased at the turnout and happy to meet faces old and new. Kind regards to all. Norman and Donna.

Re: Another Scottish Meet
Big thanks to Norman and Donna for hosting another great get together. I was well below my usual self having just suffered a bout of food poisoning courtesy of the hotel I was staying in, but I soon felt 100% better when the Tea and chat got going It was grand to meet so many fellow enthusiasts. I always leave with my spirits high and ready to dive into my "round tuit", pile
Thanks everyone, Paul. |

Re: Another Scottish Meet
Hi all, Sounds as if you have had a great day yesterday. Sorry the B40 did not make it into Steves car. Thank you to Trevor, Ken, Steve and all concerned. I am in no great hurry for B40 but I hope it's not keeping Kens car out in the cold. If you like I could put a request on Forum to get it from Ken's nr Glasgow to Warrington or Hull. Best Wishes John.
Ps. Just had a thought Postal service! how many 1st class stamps would it need! Maybe not |
