2010 Scottish Meet & Swap
Hello.
I have decided to do another meet up again this year. Last year was great but the weather could have been better. I think that between June and August would give us the chance of better weather. Would anyone interested in coming please give their thoughts on a date within those months and then to suit the majority will set a date.

Well we will be going. Just don't clash with the BVWS do. Or the Radiophile ones.
Cheers, Steve P.

Re: 2010 Scottish Meet & Swap
I don't have specific date preferences yet for the summer period, but assuming that it will be a Sunday again, I would prefer to avoid the third Sunday of the month this time if possible.

Where will it take place? If it's within about 200 miles of me I will try to make it.

Re: 2010 Scottish Meet & Swap
Hi Fido'
Last year I held it here and if a suitable venue doesn't tun up it will be here again (Kilmarnock) so its just within your 200 miles, David Simpson was going to came last year but the head gasket failed on his Freelander just as he set out, I would hope he can come too. Hope you can make it, do you have any dates that are not suitable, Sunday seems to be the most favoured day though and it will be set sometime between June to August.

Re: 2010 Scottish Meet & Swap
Hi Trevor
I agree it would be better to meet during the summer months. A Sunday would also be OK for me. Looking forward to it. Regards, Ken. |

Re: 2010 Scottish Meet & Swap
Hi.
Ok there are not so many replies as last year and so far no dates that are out or ok. I need some definite numbers and dates please, if there is a lack of response I am afraid I will have to abandon this years meet.

Re: 2010 Scottish Meet & Swap
Rather you didn't cancel it.
It was a nice do, and I look forward to seeing Kitten Von Mew's set in the flesh. Cheers, Steve P.

Re: 2010 Scottish Meet & Swap
Hi Trevor,
I can make it on any Sunday during this time. I hope it does go ahead as I've still got lots of radios, components and old computer bits I no longer need that I'm sure some others would like..... Last years event was great (apart from the weather) and it's good to meet up with like-minded folk. Regards, Andy

Re: 2010 Scottish Meet & Swap
If the numbers of interested guys are down on last year, prahaps someone in the central belt with Ham interests as well as BVWS interests might consider a joint Swap-Meet with a handy RSGB club ?
I went along to an RSGB Meet in Fochabers last Sat & had a great time newsing with guys who share similar Vintage & technical interests as ourselves. Managed to flog 25 quid's worth of stuff, but coughed up 50 quid for a TF1041C VTVM and nearly 200 valves. Regards, David |

Trevor
it would help if you just gave a date or two so we can work round you. The collective can work from there. cheers Mark |

Re: 2010 Scottish Meet & Swap
Hi.
I have set aside the 27th June for this years meet, if there's a lot of objections I will change the date! There will be loads more stuff for sale or swap this year including Radio's TV's spares etc etc, some will be on items offered today so more people will come this year. Anyone wishing these can pick them up on the day, yes I know this is naughty but if the turnout is good, next year we will hire a hall and get some help from the BVWS.

Re: 2010 Scottish Meet & Swap
Trevor, if my diary is right I am off that date so it is good for Maud and I, I will double check at work tomorrow.
Maybe the BVWS can assist this year in any event, contact Mike Barker and ask even if it is just a subsidy for your wifes excellent cooking! cheers Mark |

As I have already mentioned in "another place", I hope to be there.
