Mystery Projection Set
Hi all.
Just a quick one, but does anyone know what make and model the below projection set is? To me it looks like a Philips set (with an oddly large "Philips" badge). I don't recognise the knobs (they look like pre-war Murphy knobs to me) although the occasional controls look very Philips-esque. The programme I grabbed the image from was a British advertising programme aimed (presumably) at regional ITV company execs. Thanks all. Kind regards. From Mike.

Hi Mike,
It certainly looks like a Philips badge but the knobs look pre-war Murphy. DFWB. |

Re: Mystery Projection Set
Ah, given the info you’ve provided I’m going to speculate that FCB tv stands for ‘Foote, Cone and Belding’, very big in the adverting industry.

Re: Mystery Projection Set
The set looks like a mock-up to me, I could be wrong though.
That's a very BBC aerial representation for Commercial television, perhaps it took some time to change perceptions of what an ITA aerial looked like. I'm more interested in the advertising programme itself, hands up who remembers Monday's Newcomers? Is it possible to post a link?

The badge is a similar shape to Philips, but I am sure the set is not made by them. Mark |
