AVO MODEL 8 mrk 11
Hi,
the AV0 meter 8 as two faults------no reading on the a/c range-----ohms-x 100 range will not zero. I bought this meter from a car boot sale, can any one help in regards to a good starting --point to repair, I replaced the batterys. can any one help. kind regards . Eric. cinema1. |

Is the 15V battery good?
AC ranges could be the rectifier or current transformer perhaps. Have you got the circuit diagram?

Hi Eric,
Herald1360 has pretty much summed up the most likely culprits. Check out this similar thread which deals with a similar problem https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...d.php?t=147029 Regarding the Zeroing of the x100, definitely check the 15V Battery, but don't forget to check for any corrosion on the Contacts and make sure their clean. This can catch people out. Ian |
