Default Bush TV22 MK 11 Cap replacement

Would it be acceptable to subsitute the hum neutralizing 0.75uF non electroylic cap (Trader 1091) with a modern 1.0uF 630v poly cap.
Regards Graham

I'd be tempted to up it to 1KV, as one side of the cap is at HT (+200V) and the other (being almost connected to the mains) will, at its peak see, -370V, so thats already 570V. This doesn't leave much of a margin for any noise spikes that might occur on the mains.

Incidently, the Bush manual I have shows the cap to be 0.5uF. Also it's rating is given at 250V AC

TTFN,
Jon

Hi Gents, one of the class X caps should be ideal in this position. It will be physically smaller and a common value is 0.68uF; 1.0uf is also available.
