Military Teletype Maintenance Kit
Very interesting video from curiousmarc where he goes through a recently acquired military teletype maintenance kit, includes all the tools required plus battery and mains soldering irons and a multimeter. Seems to be complete bar one item and unused.
A nice piece of history and will be useful for the teletypes he looks after. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxBgTDpsUC0 |

Re: Military Teletype Maintenance Kit
Several decades back there was a stall at the Lincoln Hamfest radio rally that had some Creed maintenance kits for sale. They were in a dovetailed wooden box and contained various mechanical tools. Some of the items were spanners, feeler gauges, oil dispensers, spring hooks and tension gauges, tuning forks etc. The tuning forks had a thin plate fixed across the open end, this thin plate had a groove cut in the centre for alignment of rotating sections, such as the motor and govenors. The kits must have cost hundreds of £ to produce bur they were being sold for about £25 per kit. Don't remember there being a soldering iron in the kit though.
I still have mine somewhere in storage. Dave
