Hi Graham the volume is at a volume you can listen to but it's set to full turn it down a bit then you cant hear it what one is the reservoir cap using chassis as -

C26 Trader sheet. Just check the voltage on both the caps in the can.

That is a mistake, it should be a mains 240v bayonet pygmy bulb, the diagram may possibly be for the American market.

After rechecking the resistors R19 4.7k resistor was a long out replaced that and now it is loud but when you turn volume up it goes distorted but the sound is much better than before

Have you replaced the tubular wax capacitors especially the output valve coupling cap?
