Re: BEC Capacitors
There is no way of knowing. It depends on whether they operated a careful stores policy of keeping batches together and using oldest first. If they just tipped new arrivals loose into a bin, old ones could hide in bottom corners for some appreciable time.
Not all capacitors will have been bought from the same makers, not all will be date-stamped. David

Re: BEC Capacitors
Hi Bob.
With the huge amount of DAC90A’s produced, I would imagine that those components would have been manufactured, delivered and on the radios production line in a very short space of time. It seems that a large proportion of DAC90 production used these BEC (British Electrolytic Capacitors) in this position. ......And they’ve proved to be a good quality, long lived item, too! Cheers. Re: BEC Capacitors
As shown here my DAC90A has a date of 1955.
https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...=182308&page=2 In the forces I thought I'd been told the date was the 'best before' on the shelf but maybe that was a date on a label not the component its self. John |
