GEE indicator
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me when the GEE type 266 indicator was introduced into service? Is it a post war piece of equipment? Thanks, Tim. |

Re: GEE indicator
Tim,
I can't say when it was introduced, but AP2557B, 1st Edition, dated October 1945 includes the Indicator Type 266. Andy |

Re: GEE indicator
Thanks Andy,
Very much appreciated. What about the type 95 indicator? Was this just a training unit or for aircraft use also? |

Re: GEE indicator
Tim,
Not sure if you questions has been answered. The Indicator Type 266 was used in the tropicalised version of the Gee Mk II airborne system. The companion tropicalised receiver was the R3645. The Indicator Type 95 was used with the ground based Gee MkII system that used the R1426 receiver and Power Unit Type 285 and was operated from normal 230v 50Hz AC mains. Regards, Alf |
