Default EC10 MkII

Hi all,
Been repairing my EC10 MKII and all is well now, other than the BFO Coil is GONE, and i mean literally gone !!. Could anyone give me the spec's for the coil i.e. winding info, so i can make myself a new one ??

Regards Paul.....

Hi Paul

may be worth contacting Ian Nutt at the Eddystone users Group,

http://www.eddystoneusergroup.org.uk/

go the the 'eddystone spares' section in the left-hand payne.

He keeps a quatity of replacement parts at less than rip-off prices.

Good luck
Pete

You could figure out the inductance of the main part of the BFO coil from the IF frequency 465KHz and the capacitors tuning it. The other two coupling windings could maybe be found by a bit of experimenting.

Alternatively, the coil circuit looks suspiciously similar to an ordinary MW oscillator coil used in any old tranny mixer circuit- given the EC10 IF of 465KHz, one of these would probably work, maybe with some capacitor tweaking.

Hi Pete & Chris,

Thanks for the suggestions, it's a case of does one keep it original or not ?.

I Probably would not have worried to much about the lack of BFO, but i fancy running this on topband along with my AT5 .

However i bet someone will try returning to my calls on LSB !!!.

Will think this one over but again thanks to you both..

Regards Paul G4HDS.

I found the original BFO to drift too much. I fitted a Ten Tec BFO kit and adjusted the EC10 IF to work at 455KHz.
