Default Equivalent metric wire dia.

I intend to build a 40M loaded dipole, the plans specify using 24/076 size wire. Am I right, in my thinking that this equates roughly to 1.5mm CSA

24/076 sounds like a cable size rather than a wire size, 24 strands each 0.076 inch diameter. Not a cable size I'm familiar with. Wasn't in the imperial number of strands/diameter of strand (7/029 for example) series. Looks like it would be an enormous cable.

Can you post the construction article or a link to it?

Anything strong enough to support itself will work, a 100m roll of 1.5mm 7 strand installation wire for example https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/CA1dot5SBK.html

I think it could be a typo error, I have just seen another web page of the same article, it should be 24/ 0076, ie 24 strands of .0076. I cant post the link, but if you google, GM4JMU 40 M Dipole several pages come up.
Its the loading coil winding I want get correct.
I have previously already made one, but for some reason it would not load up at all,

Still a puzzle. There was a 23/0076 which equates to about 0.5 square mm.

24/0.2mm would be pretty close.

Thank you all for the replies, its a bit of a mystery, the size quoted, even if you move the decimal point about, does not really seem to make sence !
A coil made of 40 turns of 24 strands of 0.2 mm, would not really appear to be practical hanging in the air ?
23/0076 or 0.5mm suggested by Graham, makes more practical sense.
Which in all honesty would be close to the dia of the one I previously made, I think I used 0.75 mm.
