Pye Record Player Identification
Hi there.
I'm from Australia, and have just purchased this Pye Record Player. I have been trying to find what model it is as I would like to restore, and get new parts for it. Not sure even what year its from? It works perfectly. Comes with original speakers as well. I have searched for it all over the net, images, nothing comes close. If anybody can shed some light on my record player, i would appreciate it. See attatched photos. Thanks |

Re: Pye Record Player Identification
The diagram suggests it's a model A 48. Possibly made in Australia or specifically for the Australian market?

Re: Pye Record Player Identification
If this works perfectly, why would you want to search out new parts for it?
The BSR Autochanger (C129?), which may be a later replacement, comes from c. 1968.

Re: Pye Record Player Identification
Having a circuit is a useful bonus, though I must admit those transistor type numbers look horribly proprietary to me- maybe others know different. Even so, the circuit is straightforward and as long as you know whether they're Ge or Si, suitable replacements could be found if needed.
Other components are pretty generic and should present few problems.
