1960s Venner Seconds timer
Saw this and had to have it for curiosity! Does anyone know what this was originally used for?
It runs on 12v a.c. to drive a synchronous motor and also contains a bridge to provide d.c. to operate a solenoid which starts and stops the sweep hand when two external contacts are closed. The red button on the top allows the sweep hand to be returned to zero (by the motor). The other 2 hand run continuously and have no means to stop or reset them, which seems strange? Hence my question, what was it intended for, and does having the two small dials running constantly have a significance? Any thoughts? Thanks Rob |

Re: 1960s Venner Seconds timer
Google Images finds it, as long as you help it along with the word Venner.
https://picclick.co.uk/Timer-Clock-V...573418707.html There is also an Ebay listing which I won't link to, but the description says A classic Venner electronic timer. The timer operates from a 12 Volt AC input and this centisecond timer has separate dials for minutes and hours. 1 full revolution on the large dial being 1 second. The clock can be pulsed and also controlled externally. Graham. G3ZVT |

I've seen them used as laboratory times, triggered externally.
