Hitachi TRK 8080E
Hello all!
I recently found my Grandmothers old boombox!... it didnt work. All the belts had literally melted. However, i found a belt set and fitted. On replacing the PCB i noticed a thin metal link type piece. can anyone advise what i should do?.. thankyou Last edited by AC/HL; 14th Jul 2019 at 1:06 pm. Reason: Image uploaded |

Looks like a staple to me. Probably nothing to worry about.

Thanks OldTechFan96.
Yes I was thinking that last night. Tried a tape but it just clicks. Think I need to strip the mechanism right down. Oh joy!. Any advice? |

Re: Hitachi TRK 8080E
You can download the service manual from HiFi Engine here.
Since the cassette mechanism is not engaging when the play button is pressed I think that some dried grease is fouling the mechanism. Remove the cassette mechanism and give it a thorough inspection outside the boombox. Take note of what the assembly does when play is pushed. You might be able to tell if it is not engaging properly. |
