Default WS19 tuning trimmers?

Sorry to sound a dunce, but ever since I was at school over 40 years ago I have wondered what the four gas-tap like controls were for on each of the two tuning knobs on a 19 set. I imagine they are some sort of trimmer but I have never seen an operator adjusting them, what are they?

They are used to set the flick mechanism. These are the two frequency presets, one red & one blue, to enable fast tuning to a preset frequency. When enabled you can turn the dial until it clicks in place.

Don't unscrew them all the way out!

Thanks for that, it had been on my mind, as I say, for some time now.

I dismantled the dials in order to refurbish the front panel and clean things in general. What a pain putting it back together. Not to be recommended.
Peter.

Is your WS19 a MK2 or Mk3 ?

The dials, meter, and writings on my MK3 are merrily radioactive.

It's a Mk3.It's been checked and there are no problems.
