Default Hacker GAR 1000A

Acquired what cosmetically seems to look like a good quality Hacker GAR 1000A this week from a used items market. Came from a house clearance and has a Goldring Lenco GL-75 turntable.

My electronics engineer friend and guru is going to check it out safely for me - if we can find a power cable (which alas was not with the sale)

Any ideas where I can get a suitable cable?

The plug and lead you want is a Pressac with angled pins, they are in short supply, your friend may have to resort to a temporary bodge to test the unit. A permanent modification may be required. Les

Hello stereoden,

Welcome to the forum and well done for finding a nice Hacker and Lenco! Well I'm not completely sure without a close-up photo, but it could be one of those 3 pin Pressac connectors. If so then they are pretty rare I'm sorry to say.

You need a female connector marked PRESSAC underneath. I may have one stashed away somewhere. If you still need one, please PM me and I'll take a look.

Replace with modern, readily available IEC plug / socket?

That sounds from the look of the connector, very possible - attached photo,

Thanks everyone.

Yes, that is a Pressac component. Far better and for a number of reasons to have this safely hard-wired into your amplifier.
