Default Knotting dial cord - the 'Perfection Loop'

I guess that like most others, when it comes to tying knots in dial cords, I tend to just tie a simple loop knot, then blob it with superglue and hope for the best. A chum who is an angler mentioned to me that he uses a 'Perfection Loop', which is very secure and pretty much standard for anglers when fitting hooks and what not. I looked it up and seemingly, when the expertise is learnt, it's simple to tie. I've not yet perfected the 'perfection knot' perhaps not helped by my being left-handed, but I'll keep giving it a go!

Maybe the anglers on here (there are bound to be some!), can tie one in the dark with one hand behind their back, but for those who can't, the link below might help.

It shows the four steps to take, and an animation:

Have fun.

Is it any better than a bowline knot?

Must admit, I like to crimp a brass bootlace-ferrule over the cords rather than tying knots.

[this technique was used by a number of manufacturers...]

The rabbit comes out the hole round the tree and down the hole again, a bit off topic but I use that knot when winching, always easy to undo even after a ton or so pulling on it.

Other favourite knot I use is the slip knot.

Anglers have some special knots for nylon monofillament line, this may be one of those.

I used to go fishing as a boy, ( never caught much though which is one reason I started VIntage Radio) and it just seemed logical to use fishing knots in nylon cord. You don't want it coming undone! Usually bending the end double and tying a simple overhand knot is sufficient.
