232 phone bell set
Here's one how do i screw a bell set to a 232 phone? The screws are in the bell set but there does not appear to be anywhere to screw in the bottom of phone.
Many thanks Steve. |

Re: 232 phone bell set
I think you have to remove the cheese drawer, fit the bell, and refit the drawer at the bottom of the stack.

Re: 232 phone bell set
Does your bellset have the correct screws with an internal threaded at end and an external one at the other? If so, you need to ensure that the external thread is at the 'phone side. The ones at the bottom allow the drawer to be fitted beneath.

Re: 232 phone bell set
Assuming you have those special internal/external threaded screws, it's something like :
Remove the base plate of the telephone. Leave the screws captive in that. Remove the cover of the bell set and remove those special screws from the cover Fit the special screws into the underside of the bell set. Screw them in so that they become captive. Put the cover over the bell set, then put the telephone on top of that, and screw the special screws into the bushes in the telephone so the whole lot is held toghether. Put the base plate on the bottom, secure with the captive screws into the internal threads of those special screws. If you don't have said special screws, there was/is a chap who makes them. They are not cheap, but I worked out it would take me at least half an hour to turn a pair on my lathe, so he is not going to get rich making them. |

Re: 232 phone bell set
Well done, especially doing it without any pics to follow.
