I heard RNI around 6.6Mhz working some of the regulars a short time before they commenced broadcasting commercially. They were using the call sign "One-Zero".

I mention this as a historical footnote only, and not to start a general discussion about Echo-Charlie etc. which would break forum rules.

Listenership must be small for these modern day Dutch pirates as ordinary domestic receivers don't tune high enough.

I'd love to know what power some are using, they really steam in at times!

Some domestic radios in Holland in the 50s or 60s had a 'Trawler Band', presumably so families in the fishing ports could listen in to their menfolk conversing at sea, and I remember hearing the pirates on one during the day
