Grundig Satellit 1400 SL not working
Hello all
I have a Grundig 1400 SL that was owned by my grandad some years ago. I always remember it working, but the family member that had it before me has tried to use the radio on a brushless generator (not a clean sine wave) now the radio fails to work. I have around 44 volts between the fuse and power adapter switch. I have a multi meter and an understanding of electrics, but mainly auto based. Any help in the right direction would be massively appreciated Many thanks |

I have the circuit diagram and can see no obvious reason why you could have a voltage between any of the fuses and the mains input. Have you checked all the fuses for continuity? |

Re: Grundig Satellit 1400 SL not working
The power adaptor switch seems to disconnect the internal 9v battery if either a figure 8 mains cable or a 10v to 16v DC supply lead is connected. Are you using the correct lead to operate the switch?
Using a poor sine wave mains source should only affect the mains transformer I would have thought, does it check out? You need to understand which fuse is for what, do you have the circuit diagram? Last edited by Boater Sam; 8th Apr 2019 at 11:54 am. Reason: added |

Re: Grundig Satellit 1400 SL not working
I checked the upper fuses for continuity I will check the lower one
I had no voltage between the fuse that is inside the voltage change over switch. What sort of voltage should I be expecting at these and power supply. I don't have a circuit diagram I will search and obtain one. I've have the power adaptor that came with radio and it seems to operate switch Many thanks Gav |
