Yaesu FT225 counter
Hi counter on rig shows 14 then random numbers no gating pulse on p 11
ic q05 but have 2.4v dc on pin 12 also a waveform at 4.430mhz the other input to this nand chip is a 5hz signal . having the 4.430mhz signal assumed this to be ok so spent time looking at logic .Fault turned out to be the 4.430mhz signal low in amplitude due to the first fet buffer/amp being 100 ohms both ways d to s this is a 2sk19 why so expensive £8.00 or more . Re: yaesu ft 225 counter
Hello Mick
agreed, it does seem rather expensive for such an 'average' FET. Perhaps an 'economy' 2N3819 could have been used? Possibly a reflection of the lack of business users needing these devices now.
