Default Braun Chassis RC61B fuse rating

Braun Chassis RC61B fuse rating
Model 99UKW
Got this on the repair bench it should have a 20mm fuse in its holder on the mains i/p selection panel sadly there is just 5Afuse wire wrapped round the pins
No markings as to the value on this panel or back cover

I could use a meter and measure but would like to fit what was specified

The circuits for this model and similar Braun chassis use mark the fuse as S1 so no help there

Anyone got one of these they can look at to see what’s fitted please

Cheers
Vince

Hi Vince.
I have a BRAUN 99 UKW radio in my collection. Will try and find out more about the fuse value when I can get in the garage.
Cheers

Hi Vince.
Good to hear that you found a suitable alternative circuit.
The fuse on my Braun did not give much information
FN1
1/250
Did your power supply then work after the new fuse was inserted?
Cheers

Hi Vince.
What site did you obtain the manual from, please?
Does it show extra information on the tuning drives for a.m and f.m?
Cheers

Hi Vince.
I forgot that a radio collector in Germany had posted some photographs of the dial cord systems on the Braun 99 radio
http://www.ekki.bplaced.de/histe/rad...kw99/ukw99.htm
No details of dimensions though, but still useful.
Thanks for the download information. I did not see the circuit diagram details (unless I missed it).
Cheers

I see now the details for the fuse rating at least. It doesn't much matter about the circuit as that can be gained from the RC61B.
I just wondered if there was some extra information on the set that was not previously known about. Obviously the dimensions of the drive cords would have been useful.
Cheers

Is the receiver mentioned in the 1st post the radiogram version or the non radiogram version?

Lawrence.

The 88ukw has the same valve lineup and a very similar circuit, the schematic for that one gives two fuse ratings, 300mA and 600mA...maybe for different voltage taps?

Lawrence.

Hi Lawrence.
I will look up the circuit for the 88UKW radio.
These 1950's "piano-key" switch radios are extremely interesting to look at and to repair. It is a shame that nobody has written a book about the sheer variety of these radios that were made in the U.K & European countries. Probably an extremely massive venture?
I still enjoy the ordinary radios with rotary switching too!
Cheers
