Default Looking for brand and type of unknown external jukebox speaker

Hi,

This might be a long shot, but my grandfather used to service jukeboxes back in the 60's and in his workplace he has this speaker mounted on the wall.

He believes it is an external speaker for an AMI jukebox, but he is not sure. There are no naming tags or anything that could indicate this.

When searching on the internet not much can't be found other then the known AMI speakers.
From what I can see/ gather at this moment is it might be indeed from AMI-Rowe as it matches a bit the style from the era.

The speaker is round with a vertical indentation in the middle for the loudspeaker(s). The back has a regular connection for connecting to the amp and has a volume or impedance pot.
The top has a mounting point for the wallbracket.

Perhaps someone here might know from what type and brand it might be?

Thanks!

Any markings on the driver?

Think I've seen vintage Loewe speakers with a similar shape, as Bill says see if there's anything on the drivers.

Andy.

Will see if I can open it safely without breaking the top.
The plywood on top has swollen due moisture from the workplace.

Thanks!

I agree that it looks like an AMI speaker from the early 1960s, but it seems wrong in some details. The one I am thinking of is this:

I wonder whether the one you have is a lookalike by another maker?

Seems we can't open it without damaging it too much.
Need to find a good way in, then I can perhaps find out which brand it's from.
