Default Vintage Fountain 1964 Japan - Battery Wire

Hello

Complete newbie here. I know my way around a soldering iron and some basic stuff with electronics but not much more than that.

I have an old 1964 Fountian radio/phono box. It wasn't going when I got it so opened it up. Right off noticed one of the battery wires was disconnected (It does run off mains but I don't have that plug so can only run off the 6x 1.5 D batteries for now anyway).

I have attached a picture of the electronics inside with an arrow pointing to the missing wire. Does anyone have one of these or similar or have any idea where this should connect too?

Sorry if I am not asking the right questions or have enough info. Happy to provide any further photos or description if needed.

There was a thread on this website about the same kind of system
https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...ad.php?t=76286 which has a picture where it looks like the black wire is going towards the front (that was an area where there is a 9volt input, for which I don't have the plus)

Also here is a site which shows the system I have in more detail:

And here is a

Thanks
