H'mmm... it's a thought. I really honestly like to keep things original if at all possible, but this one is just too far gone to be kept original. It really is a bad 'un with much of the veneer missing.

A decision will be made if the cabinet appears to be saveable, which I think it may be.

I saved this set from a damp shed a while back. I had been looking for a 23" CRT for ages and a week or so after I managed to get one this set turned up.
I only kept it on the chance that the tube may come in handy. I kept it complete as it was easier to store than a bare CRT.
The back is missing, all the valves, the CRT base and the LOPT.
I wouldn't worry about spraying the cabinet I don't think originality matters much with such a wreck..
The cabinet is truly terrible apart from the delaminating and broken ply it's also coming apart at the seams!
My jaw dropped when Mick called to say he was going to try and save it. I thought it was too far gone by a long chalk!
Good luck mate! I shall follow it's progress.

Rich.

An excellent result with the white one. I had a 19" one in "outrageous orange" as a teenager but sadly dumped it when I went away to polytechnic!

I'm in agreement with Rich. A nice spray job would be on the cards

Nice restoration and such a good looking set, they were top notch performers in the day.
