Toshiba T2130cs laptop floppy drive removal/repair
Hi, does anyone have experience of removing the floppy drive in these older Toshiba laptops?
When I insert a floppy, the drive makes a noise and then I get a disc read error. I assume there’s some dried up grease on the mechanism. Thanks, |

Maintenance manual attached. Floppy removal page 4-21.
Hope this helps. John. |

I don't know exactly what type is used, but some of the slim floppy drives are belt driven with the motor in one corner.

John, many thanks for the service manual, that’s a great help.
David, good tip about the belt, I will be sure to check that once I’ve got it all apart. |
