TV's in Looses shop in Norwich.
Hi all
Whilst in my favourite junk shop today I spotted three more mono sets for you. All are upstairs. The first is a Murphy, large screen, 90 degree tube with controls under a pop up cover on top of the set. Still fitted with a round pin plug. Second set is a KB Westbury. Large 110 degree tube, very slim hi gloss cabinet with all four legs. Dual standard. Tuner felt seized. Lastly I saw a GEC set, not sure of model, but rounded cabinet with sliding doors. I'd love to see someone from here buy one and do a success story on it. The KB looks in interesting set. Never seen one before. The shop is called 'Looses' and is in Magdalen Street in Norwich. There is a car park nearby and they have a loading bay where you can pull in to collect your goods. I have nothing to do with the shop, just would like to see any of these go to an enthusiast. Cheers, Mike |

Do you have any idea how much they want for them? I'd be interested in rehoming one or two!

I know the GEC with siding doors (BT302 or similar) is £50 - it was there some months ago when I called. It's a bit tatty to be honest. I'd expect the other sets to be a similar price, maybe a little more for the KB Westbury as it has more 'eye appeal'.

The Murphy and the GEC do look tempting!
Any more additions to the shop recently? |

Re: TV's in Looses shop in Norwich.
I visited Looses a couple of days ago, but only had time for a cursory look round the ground floor.
Spotted a Bush DAC90 and a couple of Juke Box record selection panels. The type which are fixed to a wall and allow customers to make a selection.

You'll need deep pockets if you fancy the KB Westbury- it's for sale at £130! I got the impression the figure was non-negotiable.
Rather a shame as I've been after that model for years. At that price it'll have to stay there. Steve |

Re: TV's in Looses shop in Norwich.
I visited Looses again yesterday and this time I managed to have a good look round.
http://www.loosesemporium.co.uk/ The Murphy V410 TV shown in post #1 is still there. Lots of radios, record players, TV's, film projectors, juke box panels etc. can be found there. I didn't spot anything I fancied at a price I was prepared to pay though. There are plenty of other junk/antiques shops in Magdalen St and also in nearby St Benedicts Street. Many had radios and record players on sale.

Re: TV's in Looses shop in Norwich.
I visited Looses again recently after a gap of nearly two years.
I could find no sign of the Murphy V410, but did spot the attached GEC set which may or may not be the one in post #1. It seems to lack doors and runners? The back is curved with no flower pot ever having been present. There were quite a lot of Bakelite sets including a DAC90A at £30.00 and lots of overpriced record players no doubt aimed at vinyl revivalists.

Re: TV's in Looses shop in Norwich.
A DAC90A for £30 is not at all unreasonable IMHO.

Re: TV's in Looses shop in Norwich.
Quite true, but I'm not buying any more radios.
