Correct, their pdf's require a special Adobe plugin that only runs on Windows (won't open in an ordinary pdf viewer).
Good news is that they sent me a special membership and I could download the latest magazine file and read it on my Macintosh computer. The password-protected file needed my email address to open.

I've asked if this means that I can grab a subscriptiopn and expect all the files to open under similar circumstances.

Linux and Macos users may be able to rejoice!
