Annunciator worked by wireless.
Hi all, looking for some advice here, I have a mate who has a nice Annunciator in his house but now wants to get it working. He still has some of the original pushes next to the fireplaces but, as he has recently decorated, he doesn't want to rip the walls out to put in cables. Has anyone ever done one of these using radio or wireless?

Re: Annunciator wored by wireless
Yes. I have. I used a receiver and key fob transmitters, which can be bought from eBay.
The receiver has relay outputs, so it's easy to wire the output from say a 6V battery to the annunciator flags. The key fobs can be modified to use an external push button. I retained the key fob batteries, so they need changing from time to time.

Re: Annunciator worked by wireless.
Looking on eBay, the set up I bought doesn't seem to be available any more. It was similar to this:-
http://www.rfcontrolsystem.com/index...roducts_id=392 You should be able to get the receiver and transmitters separately.

Or wireless doorbells?
I don't know if these are available with variable channels, to allow use with multiple drops. |

Re: Annunciator worked by wireless.
There are some good ideas there, thanks for that I now have an idea of what to try.

Something like this

Re: Annunciator worked by wireless.
If the pushes are still there, the wiring might also survive.

Re: Annunciator worked by wireless.
Its about 50% of the pushes are there and they are only for show, when the house was converted to a bed and breakfast in the 1970's. The annunciator is not the original one but one that has been found to have the right displays so there isn't anything wiring wise that can be re-used.
