Bush SRG91 radiogram
Hi, I'm new here. We have just bought a Bush SRG91 radiogram, as we are big listeners of vinyl records. All seems well with the purchase, but the right hand set of speakers are not working. I've had a look and there are no obvious loose wires.
Do any of the experts know where I should begin to look? |

Hello and Welcome,
When you say the right hand speakers are not working, is this just on records, or on the radio too? |

Speakers don't work with radio or records. I've checked all the wires to and from the speakers and they are all securely connected.
Also the radio doesnt stay tuned. When you tune it its ok then walk away it starts to ceackle a d loose its tune. Last edited by Ian Scott; 15th Nov 2017 at 9:29 am. Reason: Adding extra |

Re: Bush SRG91 radiogram
Swop the speakers over to localise the fault to the speakers or the amplifier.
There are switches S5 and S6 in series with the speakers, although I don't know what form they take. Try operating these several times and giving the contacts a squirt of Servisol if they're accessible

Re: Bush SRG91 radiogram
Speakers rarely fail. It could just be poor contacts, but it could also be a fault in the amplfiier on that channel. What exerience do you have of fault finding on this kind of vintage valved equipment?
Also, is the fading on the radio confined to just the VHF waveband or all?
